THE ESSAYThe Bauen Camp is dedicated to creating an environment for creative experiences. In order to bring a diverse group of youth together to help create this experience, we ask you to tell us about yourself and why you want to be a part of the 2008 Bauen Camps. Please enclose a 250 word typewritten essay with your application and deposit.See the ESSAY PAGE for sample essays.

SAMPLE ART: The Bauen Camp asks each applicant to submit an example of their art/writing/music interests with their application. Submissions may include: DVD or film/dance/music, CD of visual art/music, writing samples or copies of programs from previous exhibits or performances.

(1) We, or I, approve this application and certify that our child is in good health. Acceptance of this application is contingent upon the camper passing a physicians exam by a licensed health care practitioner within 12 months before leaving for camp, or within 6 months in special cases. The Bauen Camp does not provide accident/illness medical insurance for any campers or staff. Medical bills are the responsibility of parents/guardians. (2) The Bauen Camp is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal items. (3) The Bauen Camp reserves the right to refuse enrollment and limit access to programming or send home any participant for any reason, including conduct in violation of camp rules or harmful to the camp (4) The Bauen Camp has my permission to use any photographs taken of my child in its camp promotions. (5) The Bauen Camp has my permission to include my child in its Evaluation Projects. (6) I understand that although the Bauen Camp has taken reasonable steps to provide my child with appropriate training, equipment, and skilled staff for his/her camp experience, I acknowledge that some inherent risks cannot be eliminated wihtout destroying the unique character of these activities. Such risks include but are not limited to htose associated with hiking, swimming, animals, wildlife and vehicle transportations. Aware of the risks and willing to assume them, I hereby waive, release and agree to hold harmless The Bauen Camp, Inc, their representatives and successors for all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my child's participation in this camp experience (7)I do herby give permission for The Bauen Camp to transfer my child off the camp property for the purpose of medical care or program activities as deemed appropriate by the Camp Director. In the even I cannot be reached in an EMERGENCY, I herby give my permission to the physician selected by the Camp Director to hospitalize, secure proper treatment for, or order injection, anesthesia or surgery for my child. Until we communicate, The Bauen Camp will personally care for my child.
