Outreach Network

     The Bauen Camp is honored to recognize the groups who make our outreach in Wyoming, all over the USA, and across the oceans a real thing. The key to the Bauen Camp's ability to carry out its vision and mission are the ties Bauen builds with other communities. As far away as Brisbane, AU, and as close as Sheridan, WY, art and youth development organizations and institutions and foundations, corporations and individuals share the camp's dream of using the arts to inspire growth in their young people and their communities. By helping to select their most promising students and helping to support their transportation and camp fees, alliances provide the opportunity for these youth to make a difference in the world, carrying their new skills and confidence back home to their own communities. Some of these alliances also participate in a local network of peer and adult support during the school-year, providing the opportunity for youth to build on the skills and ideas learned at summer camp. We call this group of wonderful people, organizations and institutions, the Bauen Outreach Network.

As participants in the 2008 Bauen Outreach Network, these alliances have the opportunity to:

• be involved in a national project (the Bauen Camp National Youth Artist Outreach Project) – its planning, implementation and evaluation;

• collaborate and network with like organizations;

• provide professional development for their staff on site at the camp with the campers and with nationally renowned guest artists; and,

• provide a summer in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming for their young artists, where they will become a part of a ‘can-do' group of exceptional young artists with the imagination, vision and skills to improve their communities.

     Since the Bauen Camp's inception in 2000, over 95 organizations and institutions in 7 countries have participated in establishing the Bauen Camp Outreach Network. We are grateful for their participation in our beginnings and look forward to their growing participation in Bauen Camp recruitment and programming. In 2008, Bauen Camp is looking forward to working with new partners in: Florida, Tennessee, Hawaii, Palestine, and Africa. Current partnerships include:
